Karen Tharp received her BFA in Studio Art from The Florida State University in the fall of 2010. She spent the next several years attending craft schools for short-term workshops and residencies, while honing her skills in a variety of mediums in her studio at home. She holds a strong belief that the hand should be prevalent and apparent in art, which holds true after two years in an experimental program.
Karen completed a Post Bacc in Ceramics at The University of Florida in 2018. She is currently in her final year as an MFA candidate at The Ohio State University in the Department of Art, Area of Ceramics, with a projected graduation date of 2021.
She currently lives in Ohio with her dog, Juniper.
