Employing color gradients, natural growth patterns, and the architecture of The Fortner building, I guided viewers around a large space using small groupings of porcelain objects. Attaching magnets, my narrative was able to climb, perch, wander, slide, seep, and creep across all surfaces.

 

Using the same forming methods and the same stain in each body of work, I played with materiality and ambiguity. Pieces appear like old bubble gum, fresh from the mouth, growing out of or placed on the wall. Or above, the forms have expanded and are saturated with color, like ripe fruit.
