waterline

dirt + porcelain, sand, rust, salt

10ft x 12ft x 1ft

Tides continue to rise and storms intensify. Each year the waterline reaches new heights as the subtle shift in heat transforms our planet. I was raised in Fort Myers, Florida, where Hurricane Ian turned a beach into a disaster.

Dirt dug up from my family's property, worms and sticks weeded out, worked together and stretched between my fingertips- these pieces hold the memory of their material, making, and their metamorphosis in the kiln. Afterward, soaked and stained with rust and salt.
